Overview
Lemax Machine & Welding Inc. is the oldest established machine and welding shop in the Fort McMurray area, serving the Northeastern Alberta region since 1980. Lemax is owned by ACE Industrial Services – an aboriginal controlled partnership between the ACFN Business Group (majority owner) and Empire Industries Ltd. (minority partner).
Operating out of the Mackenzie Industrial Park in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, we operate a 10,000 square foot facility situated on two acres of land. Our business was built through hard work, dedication, service and commitment to our valued customers.
Services
Lemax has an exceptionally outfitted facility capable of providing superior machining and welding on a wide-range of equipment. Specialty services include:
- Custom machining of new parts & used parts
- Repair of electrical motor rotor shafts, stators and end bells
- Repair of turbine shafts, diaphragms and re-blading
- Heat exchanger machining including tube bundles, shells and channel heads (both in-shop and in-situ)
- Design, fabrication, repair and alteration of flanges and fittings
- Oilfield manufactured parts, API threads, pipe transitions, spools, and victaulic rings
- Heavy equipment repairs including wheel hubs, circles, swing frames, cylinders, and link assemblies
- Portable repairs including alignment of boring buckets, blades, main frames and hitches.

- General welding, fabrication and plate processing including rolling, shearing and bending
- Multi-torch oxy/acetylene and plasma cutting

Although Lemax has grown to accommodate the changes in our industry, our values remain unchanged. The cornerstones of our business success are safety, reliability and quality control. All employees are required to adhere to the company’s Environment Safety and Health manual, and many of the Lemax employees are orientated for site access to the largest facilities in the Fort McMurray area including Syncrude Canada and the Suncor Oilsands Group. Our qualified trades people are all certified to the highest standard while our office staff are able to provide estimates, quotations and technical support for any of your machining and welding requirements. Lemax in-house QA inspector ensures all projects are completed in accordance with our strict Quality Assurance Program manual developed to the requirements of CSA Standard CAN3-Z299.33 and ISO Standard 9002.

It is also a Lemax Machine & Welding Inc. policy to utilize and provide employment to local and aboriginal residents wherever possible. We are currently involved with the Co-Op Apprenticeship program and see this as an excellent opportunity to advance young men and women in the trades program.
